Pelu Pelu #2 is an undied, handwoven area rug crafted on a traditional foot-loom from 100% hand-spun sheep’s wool. Its unique two-texture design combines different pile heights, creating a plush, tactile experience reminiscent of the softness of a stuffed bear. By using twice as much wool yarn and hand-knotting the higher pile sections, this rug offers both visual depth and luxurious comfort underfoot.

Designed by Hanne de Wyngaert and brought to life by Mayan weavers in Guatemala, each rug supports centuries-old artisanal tradition. By working directly with indigenous communities, we aim to provide fair economic opportunities while creating pieces that are both beautiful and functional.
